Crime Reports.com – An Online Source For Crime Statistics

Crime Reports.com

My favorite blogger over at Lifehacker has done it again. Jason Fitzpatrick has found yet another useful service on the internet that can and will improve your life and it can only get better and better as more agencies use it. The service is called CrimeReports. CrimeReports allows your local police agency to enter in crime statistics in to their database where any and all citizens can pull up that data and make informed decisions about what they want to do about any particular area they may have been looking into moving to or vacationing at.

This highly useful service only has approximately 500 police departments in the country participating in the database but with your help we can encourage our local police departments to join in and add their data to the site. CrimeReports is a great social site that will become more useful over time as more places and people use it. I’d like to see a place where people could put their own comments and photos and videos here as well to add yet another angle to understand what is really going on in these areas. But the site is still useful as it is but it has plenty of room for development.

Augmented Living would like you to visit CrimeReports and check to see if your area has joined and is participating in the database and if not to use the feature there to send a letter to your local police departments asking them to check the site out and join in helping to make America a better place. The knowledge that certain types of crimes are high in an area will allow the citizens to be on guard and vigilant in not allowing themselves to become the next victim. After looking at this site I feel sure CrimeReports.com is not a scam site so feel free to participate if you can.

Thank you for visiting Augmented Living and have yourself a wonderful day. We could also like to thank Jason over at Lifehacker for bringing this to our attention.
